For the farmhouse table we started with the top. Once we got it all cut and put together it was really discouraging to see the uneven edges and gaps. All those blog posts don't tell you how hard building something out of wood really is, well, how hard building something out of wood and making it look really nice is. It was tricky to say the least. Clamps are an absolute necessity and saw horses (which we didn't have) and a table saw (which we didn't have). Anyway. We got it put together and then got a small cheap planer and planed until our arms gave out and then sanded it nice and smooth.
Our friends let us borrow their random orbital sander and that saved the day.
Another walk to the park. This baby girl is full of spunk and personality and it shows more and more every day. Some days we just can't get enough of her.
She is tough. She takes a tumble and just gets up and keeps going. And she loves her big brother so much.
Next on the farmhouse table...we put together the frame and set it on the tabletop and screwed it down...more learning by trial and error :)
We were ecstatic to flip it over and find that we actually did it! We made a table!
Then we went on a hike/ride in a local canyon.
Adelaide couldn't even walk and she was climbing onto these chairs...
These were first unassisted steps... :)
